The traditional ruler of Igbo Ukwu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, His royual Highness, Igwe Dr. Barr. Martin N. Ezeh (Idu II) has asked the Federal Government to expand roads in the country in order to reduce the incessant road crashes.
Igwe Martin Eze made this serious call when the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Igbo-Ukwu Unit Command, Mr. I.T. Etuk and his team paid a courtesy visit to his palace.
He commended the members of FRSC for their good contributions in the country and reminded them that their work is in tandem with service of God and humanity. He, however, pleaded to them to continue doing great service to the nation by making roads safer for road users.
The Royal Monarch of Igbo-Ukwu requested the Road Safety Corps to provide road signs which will serve as caution to road users in his domain and beyond. He again requested from the Federal Government adequate manpower of personnel of Road Safety Corps in his community as well as in Aguata Local Government Area, Idu II of Igbo-Ukwu appealed to members of FRSC to shun all forms of bribery and corruption to avoid tarnishing the image of the corps. He went further to advice the corps to checkmate recklessness of drivers on the highways, motorcyucle riders from carrying up to five persons on motorcycles.
Igwe Dr. Barr. Ezeh also appealed o the Road Safety Corps to refresh the minds of road users on the high way codes from time to time.
While commending the eventful administration of Mr. Peter Obi (CON) in Anambra State from all sectors of infrastrucutral development, he prophesied that Governor Obi may be the next President of Nigeria going by his prudent, transparent, political and humble leadership in the state since eight year, he posited.
